This short-sighted approach can also seriously harm morale in the business, as well as your bank account, depending on the type of decision that was made in the end.
A good boss will delegate a lot of tasks effectively. This works because they know their team and the strengths and weaknesses that are inherent to each individual.
A lazy leader, however, will rarely oversee the task that is being delegated, and there is usually very little direction given. These two problems are a sure-fire way of hand-balling tasks to staff who are unaware of how to approach the responsibility they’ve been given.

The boss is the trendsetter in most businesses. If you are the type of boss that tries to get the problem fixed as fast as possible, then your staff will be the same.
Remember – lead by example as leadership creates an ethos around it that team members will follow. If you want a lazy team, be lazy. If you want a productive and successful team, then be a productive and successful leader.

If you’re a small-to-medium business, a lazy one will see little success. A business owner does not over-delegate their work, nor will they make a decision in haste.
It is vital that, as a leader, you exude an air of professionalism, grit and determination that will rub off on your employees. If not, you run the risk of a mutiny through poor leadership.
