Case Study – Dr Lloyd Saville – 818 Dental

818 Dental operating in High Street Armadale, one of Melbourne’s most sophisticated suburbs, was facing a plateau after 16 years in the business.

Even with many new clients a month, Dr Lloyd Saville, the owner and dentist was deeply frustrated because he found that he wasn’t getting to where he wanted to be even when he was trying his best at everything.

He defines this as his personal battle where he wanted to get the best out of his team but didn’t know how to.

He didn’t expect that there would be a major change in his life in such a short time. In six months, his turnover increased by 20% but most importantly, he learned to be a better leader and was able to mentor his team well so that they could make the business more successful. He could finally enjoy working ON his business on Fridays, instead of work IN his business.

It all happened when Dr Lloyd met Rob at a course he was attending and had a conversation about his struggles. Dr Lloyd told Rob that he thought his problem was not having enough patients or leads. Rob discovered that this wasn’t 818 Dental’s problem because it already had 40 new people walking through every month!

The REAL problem was that the clinic wasn’t retaining the patients it already had.  Rob presented Dr Lloyd a great opportunity on how to manage the people he works with.

In a few short months, not only has the business moved forward financially, but his team has moved forward personally and grown with the business too.

“One of the key points I remember is Rob telling me that ‘if you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve gotten’. So I knew that if I didn’t change what I did on a daily basis, I would always face the same problems and nothing will change.”

Rob and his team really challenged Dr Lloyd to think through what was going on and approach things from a different angle. He realised he had to change a lot of things in his daily habits and develop new perspectives.

Dr Lloyd was most impressed with the Coaching Program as it wasn’t just focused on business alone, but it talked about four important things in life: health, wealth, business and connections (relationships). He learned that if you can’t balance these well, life isn’t as good as it could be.
